Tūhuratea te taiao - explore nature at Waitangi
September 5, 2021
Header Image: Learning in a natural environment sparks students' imaginations and gives a sense of whakamanawa (reverence) for our history - who walked these grounds before us?
Boardwalks through Te Wao Nui o Tāne (The Realm of Tāne) provide the perfect platform to get right among the towering trees and bountiful birdlife. Students go back in time as they read the many information panels along the way sharing traditional Māori lore about our flora and fauna.
Te Wiki Tiaki Ao Tūroa 2021 runs from September 4-12. Check out Conservation Week 2021 for online quizzes, digital treasure hunts and activities for whānau to enjoy and celebrate nature together.
