New Zealand Gift & Souvenir Shop
Located in the Visitor Centre, our gift shop features a wide selection of specialised books, high quality Māori carvings, beautiful handcrafted jewellery and ornaments, locally designed and made artwork and gifts and plenty of classic New Zealand ‘Kiwi’ souvenirs as great momentos of your journey through New Zealand.
We are very proud to also offer a wide selection of stunning traditional and modern carvings, sculpted and finished by our carvers onsite in the Waitangi Carving Studio.
Whare Waka Café
Whare Waka Café is fully licensed and set in the heart of the Treaty Grounds. The café offers the perfect location to enjoy a coffee or stop for breakfast or lunch during your visit to the grounds. Enjoy a delicious meal from a wide selection of cabinet and a la carte options while you soak up the relaxing setting surrounded by ferns and native trees overlooking the waka taua (ceremonial war canoe), across to Paihia and out to the Pacific Ocean.
During the warmer months (October to April), Whare Waka Café also offers a highly acclaimed traditional Māori hāngi dinner on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday evenings.
