Celebrate the Māori New Year - School Holiday Programme

Our education team has created an exciting free school holiday programme to celebrate Matariki. All activities will run from 10am-1pm at Te Kōngahu Museum of Waitangi Learning Centre.

Monday 13th July: Create a Matariki star cluster wall hanging with paper

Tuesday 14th July: Make a compass and explore Te Kapehu Whetū/the Māori star compass

Wednesday 15th July: Grow your own kai and make a mini cress garden

Thursday 16th July: Capture the light to brighten your night with your whetū/star jar lamp

Friday 17th July: Be amazed as you gaze into your handmade constellation viewer

Price: Free for Friends of Waitangi and Day Pass Holders

All children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Please note this programme is designed for families and unfortunately will not be able to accommodate community groups.
