Aotearoa New Zealand's histories - Professional Learning

Waitangi Treaty Grounds welcomes you on a journey of discovery through Aotearoa, New Zealand’s most important historic site. The full-day programme includes a 2½ hour Aotearoa NZ’s Histories Workshop, a private guided tour of the Treaty Grounds, time to explore Te Kōngahu Museum of Waitangi, Te Rau Aroha Museum of the Price of Citizenship and a cultural performance.

The workshop aims to:

·        Examine your school’s current position in relation to their Aotearoa New Zealand’s histories implementation

·        Gain an overview of the curriculum content from Years 1 to 10

·        Explore learning activities related to Tino Rangatiratanga me te Kāwanatanga | Government and Organisation

·        Consider different ways to grow your resources for Aotearoa New Zealand’s histories

Cost: $95 per person (minimum of 20pax)

9.15am                 Explore Te Kōngahu Museum of Waitangi

10.30am               Private Guided Tour of the Treaty Grounds

11.30am               Explore Te Rau Aroha Museum of the Price of Citizenship

12:15pm               Free time for lunch

1.00pm                 Cultural performance in Te Whare Rūnanga

2.00pm                 Aotearoa NZ’s Histories workshop
