Aotearoa New Zealand's histories: Understand, know do

Aotearoa New Zealand’s histories (or ANZH for short) is the name for the new curriculum content New Zealand schools need to start implementing from January 2023. We will regularly share information about this new learning and how you can implement it into your local curriculum.

As part of the learning area Social Sciences, ANZH is the first curriculum content that is following the new structure of UNDERSTAND, KNOW, and DO:

What does this mean for schools and kura?

If you haven’t done so, now is the time to start exploring the new curriculum content. MoE’s official page Aotearoa New Zealand’s histories has lots of helpful information about the curriculum content and resources that have been published - check back there regularly for new additions.
