The Divine Remains
10th August – 3rd November
Exhibition free for Friends of Waitangi and Day Pass holders
Manawatū photographer David Lupton has been photographing pressed flowers for the past six years, constantly experimenting and refining his unique technique for capturing their divine remains on-camera. He thinks he’s probably crushed some 4000-plus flowers in pursuit of their inner beauty. This fine art botanical science exhibition creates a bold and enchanting display.
Lupton has paired up with award-winning Central American poet, Leonel Alvarado who has captioned the photographs with unique poems crafted in response to what he sees within each photograph.
